The popular Boston street performer known as Keytar Bear is temporarily out of commission due to an injury.
The Boston Globe reports the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce had asked Keytar to perform at the group's annual meeting on Tuesday night but he had to decline due to a broken foot.
It's unclear when Keytar, who dresses in a bear costume, will be back out on the streets of Boston performing.
Last June, he was attacked by a group of New Hampshire teenagers who allegedly ripped off his mask before striking him several times in the face and body while using racial slurs.
The three juvenile suspects — a 15-year-old from Londonderry, a 16-year-old from Salem and a 17-year-old from Manchester — were charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct. The 16-year-old was also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.
Keytar was back out performing just four days after the alleged assault.
