Report: Driver Responsible for Duck Boat Crash That Injured a Woman Cited

The driver has been cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk

According to a report by the Boston Globe, the driver in the duck boat crash that injured a woman in July has been cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The driver, Peter Sullivan, age 54, was issued a citation for failing to yield to Marylou Clarke, age 57, of New Jersey, as she was crossing the intersection of Newbury Street and Clarendon Street on July 10.

The initial report said Clarke was crossing contrary to the walk signal as the duck boat was making a left turn from Newbury Street.

However, upon further investigation it was determined this was not that case.

Clarke's lawyer, Bryan Gavin, told the Globe, "when the light for Newbury Street turns green, the pedestrian walkway light also signals the right of way."

Dianna Curry, a spokeswoman for Boston Duck Tours said they have not seen the citation yet.

The citation comes just a few days after Boston Duck Tours announced it would be adding a second employee to all tours as a result of the crash that killed a woman back in April.
