Report: Newlyweds Hurt in the Boston Marathon Bombing Are Separating

A couple injured near the finish line in the Boston Marathon bombing are separating after 10 months of marriage, People reports.

Twenty-seven-year-old Rebekah Gregory and 30-year-old Pete DiMartino were married in April 2014. Gregory's left leg was amputated last November after 17 surgeries in an attempt to save it; her son Noah, 7, and her then-boyfriend DiMartino were also hurt in the explosions.

"Over the last several months I've come to realize that going through such a horrific event together put a fast-forward on our relationship that we each handled differently," Gregory told People.

Gregory, who now lives in Houston, is also currently training for this year's Boston Marathon on her new prosthetic leg.

The April 2013 blasts killed three people and injured 260 others. One of the suspects, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was killed during a shootout with police days later, while his younger brother, Dzhokhar, is wrapping up jury selection in his federal trial, with opening statements set for March 4. He has pled not guilty.
