Report: Steelers Assistant Coach Assaulted Patriots Fan

Tight ends coach James Daniel allegedly kicked the fan in the leg and yelled at him

ESPN is reporting that a Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a New England Patriots fan during Thursday night's season opener.

The National Football League confirmed Friday that its security department is investigating Steelers tight ends coach James Daniel for kicking the fan in the leg and yelling at him. He also reportedy engaged in a shouting match with a police officer, according to ESPN. The Steelers are said to be looking into the matter as well.

Daniel, 62, has been with the Steelers for 12 years, and formerly worked for the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons.
