Reward Offered for Info Leading to Arrests in Newspaper Box Explosion

The State Fire Marshal is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the case being solved

A reward is being offered by Massachusetts' State Fire Marshal for information leading to the suspects behind the explosion of a newspaper box for an LGBT newspaper in Salem earlier this week.

The person whose tip leads to an arrest will be eligible for a $5,000 reward.

Anyone with information about this arson, which happened in the early morning hours on Tuesday, is asked to call the state arson hotline at 1-800-682-9229 or Salem police at (978) 744-0171 ext. 179.

Salem police say seven people were caught on surveillance video placing a device inside the newspaper box, and the explosion was heard up to a mile away.
