Cranston, Rhode Island, police have charged a Johnston woman they say was driving drunk with her 8- and 10-year-old daughters in her car.
Janira Flores was arrested just before midnight on Saturday and charged with offenses including operating under the influence with children in her car, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say another motorist reported seeing a car sideswipe a telephone pole then leave the scene while leaking a large amount of motor oil. Police following the trail of oil found the car with two flat tires and body damage consisted with a sideswipe accident.
Police say the 28-year-old Flores failed field sobriety tests and refused a chemical test.
Neither Flores nor her children were hurt.
