Here Is When Rideshare Pickup and Dropoffs Are Moving at Boston Logan Airport

It's moving to a centralized location to help ease congestion and keep passengers more comfortable, airport officials say

Many people who use rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft to go to and from Boston Logan International Airport will soon get familiar with a different part of the airport.

The transition plan for the new, centralized location for airport rideshares to begin and end was rolled out Friday. Airport officials said it will begin this month for pick-ups from two terminals.

The location at the new Central Parking structure is weather protected, with heaters for the cold winter months, and will be safer and more efficient pickups and dropoffs, airport officials said. The location connects to all the terminals at Logan Airport.

Massachusetts Port Authority will relocate nearly all pickups and drop offs to the Central Parking over the coming months, starting Oct. 28, when passengers using terminals A and C will being picked up at the facility.

On Nov. 4, pickups at terminals B and E will move to Central Parking as well.

Starting Nov. 11, all drop-offs between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. will move curbside at terminals' lower levels.

And finally, on Dec. 9, all ride drop-offs, unless between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m., will be moved to the Central Parking facility.

A Massport representative says the new centralized location will help alleviate congestion on our roadways, tunnels and in the surrounding communities.
