23-Year-Old Driver Dies After Rollover Crash Leaves Car Submerged

The driver has been identified as 23-year-old Medway resident Ethan Huckins

A 23-year-old driver died Monday morning after his car was involved in a rollover crash, leaving it submerged in water just off of Interstate 495 in Massachusetts.

State police said the crash happened off the median of I-495 northbound in Hopkinton near exit 21A around 5:30 a.m. The crash trapped the victim in the car, and first responders from Hopkinton and Milford's fire departments were able to free him from the submerged car.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate the driver, identified as 23-year-old Ethan Huckins of Medway, before taking him to Milford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, state police said.

The crash caused at least the left two lanes of the interstate to close for a few hours. All lanes were reopened by 8:50 a.m.

Drivers were cautioned to be careful on the roads Monday morning due to slick spots and black ice.

The crash remains under investigation.
