Ryan Kath Joins NBC10 Boston's ‘The Investigators' Team

NBC10 Boston today named Ryan Kath investigative reporter for NBC10 Boston’s investigative team “The Investigators.” Kath’s first day with NBC10 will be July 16.

Kath will work alongside three-time 2018 New England Emmy Award recipients Ally Donnelly and Karen Hensel to deliver in-depth specialty investigations and serious news reports to Greater Boston’s audiences.

“We are excited to welcome Ryan to the NBC10 Boston investigative team, 'The Investigators.' He brings years of experience within the Boston market to our team. We can’t wait to see the stories he’ll deliver to our viewers,” said Ben Dobson, vice president of news for NBC10 Boston.

Kath joins NBC10 Boston from WBZ-TV, where he reported as an I-Team correspondent since March of 2015.

Prior to returning to Boston, he spent eight years at KSHB-TV in Kansas City. He started at the station as a morning reporter, before eventually receiving a promotion to the investigative team in September 2010. His broadcast journalism career began at KTTC-TV, where he covered the Mayo Clinic, city hall and high school sports in Rochester, Minnesota.

"I'm thrilled to join the team at NBC10 Boston. I respect Ally and Karen's work. Now, I look forward to collaborating with them to increase the station's investigative brand and provide our viewers the information they need and deserve,” said Kath.

Kath’s investigations have earned 16 regional Emmy Awards, five regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, and an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for an investigative documentary about the missteps surrounding a natural gas explosion at a popular restaurant.

Kath earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University.

He lives in Boston with his wife and two daughters.
