Residents in a waterfront community in New Hampshire are locking up tighter Thursday night as police search for suspects in a string of burglaries.
Rye resident Patricia Reilly didn't want to show her face on camera as she spoke with necn about what her surveillance cameras captured Sunday afternoon.
"It was a little disconcerting," she said. "To be by yourself and know that someone has been breaking in."
Police are looking for two people of interest in their investigation as they try to figure out who broke into three waterfront homes along Ocean Boulevard – Reilly's however, was not one of them.
"The officers working patrol unit got called by one of residents down there stating one of their doors had been attempted to be kicked in," said Rye Police Lt. Scott Blaisdell.
None of the targeted houses had surveillance. Reilly is convinced the cameras deterred the criminals from trying to get inside.
"They had to see them," she said. "Maybe that's why they didn't."

Now police are using her video to ask the community for help and to remind people that crimes happen everywhere.
There is a financial reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest. Police are advising residents to lock their doors and turn on outside lights at night.
