    Body Found Near Salvation Army Donation Bins

    Police are investigating after a body was found in Worcester.

    Massachusetts police are investigating after a body was found Monday morning near a donation bin outside a Salvation Army store in Worcester.

    Authorities said the body was located near the bin on 72 Cambridge St. just before 10 a.m.

    Police have not said whether foul play is suspected but did say the medical examiner has been contacted.

    "It's just so devastating that something like this happened," said Liz, a Salvation Army worker. "When I walked into the office, someone told me what happened, I thought they were kidding around, I thought they were joking."

    Police are investigating after a body was found Monday morning near a donation bin outside a Salvation Army store in Worcester, Massachusetts.

    The body was found 9:45 Monday morning. By nightfall, crime scene investigators, were still searching for evidence in the case.

    "For something that is a potential homicide, it does take quite a while to process, and we want to do a thorough job because we have one chance to do it," said Worcester Police Lt. Sean Murtha. "Get all the evidence we can — looking for DNA, small fibers."

    Employees, who said the building is also home to a rehabilitation facility, told NBC10 Boston they have no idea who the victim could be.

    The Worcester Police Detective Bureau is investigating.
