Scattered Showers & Thunder Expected Tuesday Evening

A cold front is draped across New England and continues to sink to the south this evening. We will have scattered showers with a chance for a thunderstorm during the evening commute across Boston, Worcester and through Hartford.

The showers slowly move out of Portland, Manchester, and Burlington, and drier air takes over for the rest of the night. Southern New England will remain showery this evening and the rain moves out for everyone early tonight.

With any storm that may develop, we have a low chance for lightning, hail or a damaging wind gust.

Overnight, we continue to dry off and cool down. Lows drop to the 30s across northern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, and into the 40s for almost everywhere else.

Wednesday we welcome another break from the rain and mostly clear skies, though a few clouds linger across the south coast early. High temperatures will be seasonable in the 60s, 50s north.

Cooler temperatures and soggy weather will return for Thursday night and Friday as a low pressure system tracks north of New England. Waves of rain are expected Thursday night which will lead to soggier conditions Friday.

The rain will be off and on through early Saturday morning, but clearing skies are the trend Saturday afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 60s.

Mother's Day begins dry with highs in the 60s, then showers arrive by evening. Rain may linger into Monday.

Our unsettled weather pattern continues through next week too. High temperatures will be around 60 next week.
