Seacoastonline.com reports Durham Fire Chief Jason Cleary confirmed a woman who was driving a Toyota Prius was extricated from the vehicle on a stretcher. Her condition is not immediately known.

One child on the bus suffered a minor injury. Three nurses got on the bus to check the children. One child had a gash on his head, but it didn't appear to be anything major, reports Early.

Police and a witness tell Early the Prius drifted into the wrong lane, and the bus had no where to go.

"It was pretty scary, but everyone was OK," five-year-old Hayden tells Early.

Fire officials tell Early the intersection of Durham Point and Route 108 will be shut down for most of the day.

The students were headed to Mast Way Elementary School in Lee.
