Search for Stolen Civil War Memorabilia

Vermont State Police investigators are asking for help from the public in recovering Civil War memorabilia stolen from a Shrewsbury home during a burglary.

Police said Monday the memorabilia includes a 6-inch flintlock pistol with a small leather powder horn, a post-Civil War era bayonet and a Union soldier's leather ammunition case, described as being in good condition with a metal interior and grey/blue leather exterior.

Police say the items were stolen from the home of George Lincoln and they had been passed down over the generations by the Lincoln's family.

It's believed the items were taken last week and they may still be in the Rutland area.
