Second Arrest Made in Connection to Shooting at Providence Place Mall

Police in Rhode Island have made a second arrest in connection with a shooting last month at Providence Place Mall.

According to WJAR-TV, Alkhail Sirleaf, 19, of Providence, was charged with conspiracy for his involvement in the Jan. 15 mall shooting, which left a man injured. Sirleaf was also recently arrested on multiple gun charges.

Authorities have identified the victim as Leonard Liriano, 19, of Cranston.

WJAR-TV reports a 17-year-old Pawtucket boy was previously charged in relation to the shooting. He was arraigned in Family Court on Jan. 16 on charges of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon.

A Family Court judge denied the state's request that the teenager be detained and instead released him to his mother on home confinement.

A third suspect, Sandy Reyes, 18, has also been been identified by police. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with the mall shooting.

Anyone with information on Reyes whereabouts is urged to contact Providence police at 401-243-3121.
