Security Remains High at Fenway Park for Game 4

Red Sox fans once again poured into Boston's Fenway Park on Monday afternoon for Game 4 of the American League Divisional Series and once again, security was tight.

The increased police presence comes after authorities learned that Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock researched Fenway Park as well as the Boston Center for the Arts in the months leading up to the shooting that killed 58 people at a country music concert last Sunday.

At Sunday's game, a tactical team was inside and outside of the park, while there was also undercover officers monitoring the crowds. The fans who arrived at the game didn't seem to mind the increased security.

"I have no fear. None of that is in the back of my mind. If it is, you let them win," said one Red Sox fan.

"You can't stop your life. You gotta just keep moving on," said another fan. "Don't stop your life for something that might happen. We just continue to go."

Other security present for the Astros game included bag checks, metal detectors and police monitoring the crowd from rooftops.

In addition to Red Sox games, there has been increased security at other events in the city, including this weekend's Bruno Mars concerts at TD Garden, a concert at City Hall Plaza and road races.

At this point there is no evidence that Paddock ever traveled to Boston, but he did search online for hotels near Fenway.

Boston police and the FBI said there are no specific or credible threats locally.

Paddock also researched Chicago's Lollapalooza festival, which is held in August, and reportedly booked rooms at a hotel looking over Grant Park, where the event was held this year. He did not wind up showing up in Chicago on those dates, however.

Officals briefed on the investigation still don't know the motive behind the Las Vegas shooting and are trying to figure out what the Boston and Chicago research was all about.
