Why Sen. Elizabeth Warren is a Huge ‘Game of Thrones' Fan

The Massachusetts Democratic took the time to review last week's season premiere

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is offering her insight to one of the most popular shows on cable television, "Game of Thrones."

The Massachusetts Democrat, who is one of the many 2020 contenders running for the White House, took the time to review last week's season premiere in a blog post.

She tweeted Sunday, "Why do I love Game of Thrones? It's the women (duh!)."

In her blog, Warren said she watches the show for reasons other do — to see who lives and dies. But it's more about female empowerment.

"I watch Game of Thrones because, just like everyone else, I want to find out who lives, who dies, and who ends up on the spiky iron chair in King's Landing. But for me, the hit HBO show is about more than a death count (I’ll leave that to Arya). It’s about the women," Warren wrote.

Her post goes on to recap last week's episode focusing on characters Daenerys (Dany) Targaryen and Queen Cersei of Casterly Rock. It remains to be seen if the recap is a nod to her own political candidacy.

"Unlike Dany, Cersei doesn’t expect to win with the people — she expects to win in spite of them," Warren wrote.
