I-95 in Guilford Fully Reopens After Fatal Crash Closed Highway for 8 Hours

Interstate 95 in Guilford has fully reopened after a fatal crash closed it for more than eight hours on Saturday.

Police said I-95 northbound between exits 58 and 59 was closed after a tractor trailer truck rolled over and hit another car around 6:45 a.m. Officers said an ejection and at least one serious injury were reported and at least one person has died.

Motorists were being diverted off of the highway at exit 58 at one point and then were able to pass on the shoulder. All lanes of the highway reopened around 3:30 p.m.

At one point, the crash caused delays of more than 5 miles between exits 55 and 59 on I-95, according to Connecticut DOT. 

Officers have not released any details about the person who died.
