26-Year-Old Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Allston

A 26-year-old man was killed overnight in a motorcycle crash that temporarily shut down an off-ramp from I-90 in Boston's Allston neighborhood, according to state police.

Authorities said the crash happened at 3:20 a.m. as the victim, who was identified only as an East Boston man, was traveling on his motorcycle on I-90 east onto the Exit 18 ramp.

For reasons still under investigation, the motorcyclist hit the right side curb and was ejected from his 2010 Yamaha YZFR1. The man was determined dead at the scene, state police said.

As a result of Wednesday's deadly crash, the Exit 18 off-ramp from Interstate 90 eastbound was closed for about two hours while crews investigated the scene. It was reopened by 6 a.m.

Officials have not revealed the name of the fatal victim pending notification of his family.  The investigation is ongoing.
