A shark sighting was reported off of East Sandwich Beach, Sandwich police announced Sunday on Facebook.
The Public Safety Dispatch received a call from someone reporting they saw a shark that appeared to be attacking a seal in the Salt Marsh Road area.
The Sandwich Fire Department deployed its patrol boat to check the area, with plans to do so until 5 p.m. Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard was also checking the area Sunday.
Any shark sightings off of Sandwich beaches can be reported to the Sandwich Public Safety Dispatch Center at 508-888-1212.
