A great white shark was spotted off the coast of Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Saturday afternoon, forcing the evacuation of local beaches.
The Plymouth Harbormaster said the 15-foot long shark was spotted at 2 p.m. by a local fisherman about a half-mile off Manomet Point.
Due to the shark siting, the town beaches are closed for 24 hours as a precaution. They will remain closed until 2 p.m. Sunday.
They affected beaches are Plymouth Long Beach, Whitehorse Beach, Nelson Beach and Stephen's Field swim area.
No injuries were reported.
