Skier Dies at Maine's Sunday River Ski Resort

Benjamin Taylor, 35, fell and went off a double black diamond trail and into the trees on Wednesday morning

Resort officials say a skier has died in an accident on an expert trail at the Sunday River ski area in Newry, Maine.

Police say 35-year-old Benjamin Taylor of Bethel fell and went off the double black diamond Black Hole trail and into the trees at about 11 a.m. Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Taylor was an employee of Sunday River, but was not working at the time. A spokeswoman for the resort said he was wearing a helmet and was with friends.
