Small Dog Tossed From Car, Recovering at Shelter

A passer-by driving home from work Friday in Manchester, NH, witnessed this

A small dog that was tossed out of a car window is recovering at a New Hampshire animal shelter.

A passer-by driving home from work Friday saw the car ahead of her slow down and throw something white outside of a passenger-side window on a Manchester street.

She first thought it was trash, then realized it was a dog. She stopped and took him to an animal clinic.

Manchester Police say a report was never generated on this incident.

"This particular case may not appear to be as it seems, so an investigation is needed to determine if in fact the incident actually occured," said police.

Veterinarians say the 10-pound dog has been named Cooper and is in good health.

He's estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old. He's at the Manchester Animal Shelter.
