Box Truck Overturns on Rhode Island Highway During Snowy Commute

A snowy commute on Wednesday morning made things tough for drivers across New England, including the driver of a box truck who overturned on a Rhode Island highway.

Rhode Island State Police said the truck overturned on Interstate 95 north in Providence on the Thurbers Avenue curve just as light snow started falling.

No injuries were reported but police said the truck was blocking

The Rhode Island State Police said no one was hurt, but the truck was blocking two lanes of the highway.

NBC10 Boston's Weather Warrior saw numerous disabled vehicles pulled over on Interstate 290 Wednesday morning.

In Massachusetts, the Department of Transportation reduced the speed limit on the Turnpike to 40 mph from the New York border to the Springfield interchange as a precaution.

In Concord, police were looking for a black sport utility vehicle involved in a hit and run crash that happened on Power Mill Road.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Police said the SUV was last seen heading toward Old Marlboro Road and would have damage on the passenger side.
