Storm Next Week Expected to Bring Rain South, Snow North

Another soaker has come and gone. Rainfall totals were rather significant, with a handful of towns receiving more than 2 inches of rain:

Fairhaven, Mass.: 2.68 inches

Rockland, Mass.: 2.40 inches

North Weymouth, Mass.: 2.34 inches

Yarmouth, Mass.: 2.13 inches

Brockton, Mass.: 2.09 inches

Weymouth, Mass.: 2.05 inches

Randolph, Mass.: 2.02 inches

West Wareham, Mass.: 2.01 inches

Snow fell in northern New England, with 3 to 6 inches on some of the highest peaks.

For the rest of Saturday we are left with the wind.

Winds will gust to 40 mph, which could be enough to cause some isolated wind damage.

Sunday and Monday will be beautiful autumn days with sunshine and temperatures in the mid-40s.

The wind will be significantly lighter.

Tuesday, a similar storm system to the one we just encountered will move through. The region will get more rain, as well as some snow in northern New England. Winds will also be rather strong.

The rest of the week should be quiet. Another storm system is possible next weekend. It might be cold enough to bring snow to areas north of Route 2. For areas that will be too warm for snow, another inch of rain is possible.
