Special Needs School Employee Faces Child Porn Charges

Rhode Island authorities say there's no evidence 32-year-old Eric Bean of Cumberland had inappropriate contact with children

Authorities say a Cumberland, Rhode Island, IT tech at a school for students with special needs faces child pornography charges.

Thirty-year-old Eric S. Bean of 1569 Mendon Road, Apartment 3, was arrested Friday for allegedly possessing and transferring child pornography.

According to police, Bean is a desktop support technician with the IT department at the Judge Rotenberg Educational Center in Canton, Massachusetts, which is a special needs school for emotionally disturbed students and developmentally delayed students; police say that while the investigation is ongoing, there's no evidence indicating Bean inappropriately contacted the children.

Bean allegedly transferred child pornography images from an email account, according to authorities, and after a search warrant was executed, police say they found child pornography and took digital media for more analysis.

Bean is expected to be arraigned on Friday.
