Springfield Authorities Respond to 3 Trash Fires in Building

Authorities responded to three separate and reportedly deliberately set trash fires in a Massachusetts building.

According to Springfield police, they responded to 10 Chestnut Street at approximately 6 a.m. Sunday to find three trash fires. One was in the hallway on the 18th floor, one was in the 11th floor stairwell and the third was found in the 30th floor stairwell.

The one on the 18th floor was put out by a resident, police said.

The damage was under $5,000, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to call the Arson & Bomb Squad.
