A weekend service at a New Hampshire prep school rocked by revelations of sex abuse has aimed to confront the past and start the process of healing.
"Alumni Doorways" organized Saturday's event at the St. Paul's School chapel in Concord. It was described as a service of "witness, lament and apology."
New Hampshire Public Radio reports that the Rev. Valerie Minton Webster, an Episcopal priest and a 1976 graduate, helped to organize the event. She says she was molested by an English teacher at St. Paul's who assaulted multiple students but went unpunished.
St. Paul's is one of several New England prep schools dealing with sexual misconduct claims.
An independent investigation into sexual misconduct at St. Paul's substantiated abuse claims against 20 former faculty and staff members dating back decades.
