A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection to a stabbing that injured a man overnight near a Roxbury high school, Tuesday.
Authorities said they received a call just before 1:30 a.m. about a stabbing near 54 Malcolm X Boulevard. The victim, who was not identified, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. He told officers he was stabbed by someone he knew.
Police were investigating near the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, focusing on the right side of the school.
As officers searched the area, they encountered a juvenile near Ruggles Street who matched a description the suspect. Police said he appeared to have blood on his shirt.
Officers arrested the suspect and identified him as a 17-year-old boy from Roxbury.
He faces charges of assault with intent to murder and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
