A man is suffering from life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed near TD Garden in Boston, authorities say.

Boston police say they received a call around 7:35 p.m. for a stabbing in the area of 70 Causeway Street, near North Station and the Garden.

The victim was conscious and alert when he was taken to a local hospital, but his condition later deteriorated, according to police.

A bloody Bruins jersey could be seen on the ground outside CitizenM Hotel, and patrons of the hotel were being given police escorts around the crime scene.

The Bruins did have a home game earlier Monday, but it's not clear if the victim attended the hockey matchup as it ended hours before the stabbing.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing are not immediately clear.

The street was shut down for a few hours as police investigated.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
