Maine State Police say a woman was arrested on drug charges after she was involved in a chase on Route 4 from Turner to Auburn.
An officer attempted to stop a motorist Sunday morning for traveling 29 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Police say the motorist immediately sped off, reaching 80 MPH. Along the way, the suspect threw a .22 caliber handgun out the window. The chase ended near the Auburn Mall when a police cruiser made contact with the woman's car and spun out.
Elsa Konopka, 23, was ultimately arrested and charged with possessing crack cocaine, failing to stop for a police officer, operating without a license, and possessing drug paraphernalia.
