State Trooper Strikes Pedestrian While Driving to Detail

A Massachusetts state trooper on the way to a detail struck and injured a female pedestrian in East Boston early Saturday morning.

Police said the 58-year-old pedestrian was crossing the street while heading to work. The trooper was driving the vehicle through the intersection at the time.

The woman was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of what police described as non-life threatening injuries. The trooper was also taken to the hospital after the accident for treatment of emotional stress.

Police said additional details remain under investigation.
