Groups of children and teenagers have assaulted and robbed several people in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood over the past several days, Massachusetts State Police said Friday.
The incidents, which usually involve a group of 10 or so kids or teens stealing their cellphones or electronics after assaulting them, have all been in the Jackson Square and Southwest Corridor of Jamaica Plain, police said.
Police are increasing patrols in the area, but they urge people to be aware of their surroundings and to keep their electronics hidden.
"I’ll certainly be a little bit more aware when I’m walking around here," said Emily LaPierre.
"It was really irritating," said Jacques Wells, who says a group of juveniles came after him. "You know a bunch of kids getting out of school being loud or whatever. They kind of followed me and harassed me."
Anyone who feels threatened should call 911, police said.
Police didn't say if they made any arrests or if anyone had been seriously injured.

Passengers and pedestrians are being urged to be on alert after a string of robberies and assaults outside the Jackson Square T stop in Jamaica Plain.
"It is a little worrisome," said Jacqui Chandler. "I’ll close my bag, I’ll keep it close to me, I’ll pay attention to my surroundings because usually I’m reading a book."
