String of Sexual Assaults Under Investigation in Boston

Police investigating a string of sexual assaults in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood are working to determine whether the incidents are connected.

Two of the incidents took place outside of the same address. Police say around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, a female victim was in the parking lot of 130 Auckland St. when a man told got out of a black van and told her to get in. According to police, when she ignored him, he blocked her path and pulled down his pants.

The victim yelled and backed off, and the suspect fled in the van, police say.

The suspect in that incident was described as being between 25 and 30.

Around 6 a.m. on Friday, another female victim was on the sidewalk near 130 Auckland St. A red car stopped next to her and a man whose pants were apparently unzipped got out and tried to grab her, police said. When she ran away, police say he ran after her, grabbed her and tried to pull her back.

The victim in that incident slipped out and ran across Dorchester Avenue, where people came to help. The suspect, described as being about 30, about 5'8, with a scruffy beard, fled.

Around 5:30 a.m. on Monday, a suspect with wavy hair and a ponytail approached a female jogger in a red Toyota sedan, according to police. The victim says his pants were undone. She ran away, but he followed her until she was able to stop a bicyclist for help. He fled in this incident, as well.
