Sun Shines for Remarkable Election Day

After a flat-out cold start, the temperatures will rocket back into the upper 50s to low 60s this afternoon

Election day is upon us, and the weather couldn’t be more pleasant. After a flat-out cold start, the temperatures will rocket back into the upper 50s to low 60s this afternoon.

Considering the time of year with the low-angled sun and the shorter day length, this is pretty remarkable. Even by evening, temperatures should hover in the low and mid-50s until the polls close.

Next up is a swift-moving front to bring us showers on Wednesday. A small wave of low pressure will form on the front and focus the showers in Southern New England late day.

Highs again will be on the mild side, but short of the 60 degree mark. More cold air is coming late week, but again it should be repelled by another warmup later into the weekend.

The Patriots game looks to be precisely when the temps start to recover, as it stays on the (relatively) dry side for several days after midweek.
