The first snow of the season has fallen at a popular New England ski resort.
The live video stream at Sunday River in Maine captured snowflakes in the early morning hours on Friday, with upwards of an inch falling at higher elevations.
"Even when we just get a dusting, there is palpable energy around Sunday River after the first snow," Resort President and General Manager Dana Bullen said.
Halloween is generally the timeframe for Sunday River's opening day for skiing and snowboarding.
In 2018, the resort opened up several trails on Oct. 19 following natural snow and 36 hours of cold weather conducive for making snow.
