New England

Plenty of Sunshine Sunday, Showers Return Monday

The beautiful weather takes a turn on Monday

Our beautiful stretch of weekend weather continues today across New England.

Highs will be a touch lower than yesterday, reaching the 60s in most spots. There will be plenty of sunshine, with a few extra clouds over the mountains of Northern New England.

Clouds increase for all tonight, with lows in the 40s and 50s.

An approaching cold front will bring a few showers after midnight in Northern New England. Showers will continue during Monday morning there as well, before the spotty showers slide into Southern New England during the afternoon.

It will be cool, with highs mainly in the 50s and 60s.

The same front then reverses direction and comes back through New England as a warm front on Tuesday, allowing highs to pop into the 70s for many. Showers will return as that happens, so it will be another mostly cloudy and occasionally damp day.

There may even be a few wet snowflakes in far Northern Maine, where the warm air struggles to arrive.

Rain continues off and on into Tuesday night and first thing Wednesday morning, before we then dry out during the day. Highs will still be above average, near 70.

We’ll stay above average through the end of the week, as it looks now.
