Surveillance Video Released in Gas Station Robbery

Robbery took place at Gulf station on Beacon Street in Newton

Police hope video footage will help them find a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint in Newton, Massachusetts, on Tuesday night.

The robbery happened at 9 p.m. at the Gulf station on Beacon Street.

Police said the suspect walked into the station showing a long type of gun and demanded money, then took off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Fazal Azim was the clerk behind the counter.

When asked if he was scared he said he was, "Very scared, because this is the first time in my life something like this.”

The robber was wearing green pants, a green shirt, a gray jacket and a white cloth on his face.

Police aren’t sure if the gun was a rifle or shotgun, or even if it was real.

The suspect got away with about $300 to $400 in cash. Police aren’t sure if he got into a car when he ran from the store.
