Police have arrested a suspect following a brazen stabbing following a road rage incident in Braintree, Massachusetts, Thursday afternoon.

Mario Roman, 32, of Braintree, pleaded not guilty to two assault charges and was ordered to be held on $150,000 bail.

Police say they were able to track Roman's vehicle using a partial license plate number.

Local and Massachusetts State Police said an argument between Roman and another driver on Granite Street happened before the attack, prompting investigators to close a lane of traffic on the busy road leading to Interstate 93.

Braintree police and prosecutors said that a 30-year-old Randolph man taken to Boston Medical Center after being stabbed five times, lacerating his spleen.

Police said they believe the fight began near the intersection of Granite Street and Forbes Road, and ended a short distance away when both drivers left their cars and got into a fight.

The victim is expected to recover.

In court, Roman's attorney argued this may be a case of mistaken identity, since the suspected weapon found in his home is a knife he uses for work as a roofer.

Investigators say Roman admitted to honking his horn, but says the other driver came after him.
