The suspect in a fatal cop shooting in North Carolina has been arrested in Rhode Island.
Irving Lucien Fenner Jr. was arrested on Tiogue Avenue in Coventry overnight Tuesday.
He was hospitalized with a gunshot injury he originally sustained from the encounter with Officer Tim Brackeen over the weekend in Shelby, North Carolina.
Police say Brackeen was looking for Fenner, who apparently missed a court date related to a weapons charge, according to necn affiliate WJAR.
Brackeen died from his wounds on Monday.
Earlier, state police raided a home in Providence after getting a tip, but Fenner was not home.
Police say two women are also in custody on charges related to Brackeen's murder.
