No Bail for Suspect in Fatal P.F. Chang's Stabbing

Jaquan Huston was arraigned Monday on a first-degree murder charge in the weekend death of Elivelton Dias

A Massachusetts man accused of fatally stabbing his P.F. Chang's coworker over the weekend is being held without bail after his arraignment Monday morning.

Jaquan Huston of Salem appeared before a judge in Peabody District Court on a first-dgree murder charge in the death of Elivelton Dias.

Huston allegedly stabbed Dias in the kitchen of the P.F. Chang's restaurant at the Northshore Mall in Peabody on Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, the mother of the 23-year-old suspect is coming to her son's defense.

Authorities say Huston stabbed the 38-year-old Dias in the back at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday then fled the restaurant. He was arrested at his home.

Prosecutors say Huston told them he thought Dias was threatening him in Spanish and that the stabbing was self-defense.

Family members say Dias was an immigrant from Brazil who had just become a father for the first time about two weeks ago.
