Town of Swampscott, Massachusetts, Raises Smoking Age to 21

The North Shore town of Swampscott, Massachusetts, has raised the age on smoking.

The town has joined the Tobacco 21, which calls for increasing the legal age for purchasing tobacco and nicotine delivery products to 21 instead of 18, according to the Salem News

The newspaper also reports that in addition to increasing the sales age, the board also voted to prohibit all smoking and use of nicotine products at public beaches and public parks in town. 

Swampscott is the 85th community in Massachusetts to raise the age on smoking.
