Target to Hire 4,300 Seasonal Employees in Mass.

Target announced Thursday that it will hire 120,000 seasonal employees nationwide, including 4,300 in Massachusetts.

The seasonal hiring is up 20 percent over last year's hiring.

"Adding 120,000 people to our current team will make the holidays easier and more convenient for our guests - whether they're in stores, picking up their Drive Up orders or having a package delivered to their home," Janna Potts, chief stores officer, said in a statement.

Target will host hiring events at all stores nationwide from Friday, Oct. 12 through Sunday Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Potential eligible applicants will be able to interview on the spot and receive conditional job offers.

The store also announced that all team members hired after Sept. 16 will begin at $12 an hour minimum wage as part of the company's commitment to increasing minimum hourly wage to $15 per hour by the end of 2020.

Nationwide, Target has 1,839 stores.
