A Bangor, Maine, teacher who was under investigation in connection with child pornography was found dead at a motel Saturday, according to necn affiliate WCSH.
Jeremiah Gorman, 35, was a social sciences instructor at John Baptist Memorial High School. According to Head of School Mel MacKay, the school learned of the investigation on Friday afternoon. Authorities had searched Gorman's home and asked to search his classroom Friday night.
"The early indication I have been given is that suicide is likely," MacKay said in an email to parents.
School is scheduled to resume Monday at 8:30 a.m., beginning with an assembly for all students, faculty, and staff. A modified class schedule will resume following the assembly.
