A former Massachusetts high school teacher faced a judge Wednesday on an indecent assault charge.
Bradley Lengas, 56, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, was released on personal recognizance after his appearance in Stoughton District Court.
The details of the case were not read during the court appearance.
Lengas, a long-time teacher at Sharon High School, was suspended as the school district cooperated with Sharon police to conduct an investigation into his alleged misconduct.
Lengas' employment was terminated after a criminal charge of indecent assault and battery against a person over the age of 14 was filed by police.
Lengas is due back in court April 29.
