Teacher's Aide Accused of Molesting Student

The Providence School Department said in a statement Monday the investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing, and Tedeschi was cleared to return to work Dec. 9

Police have arrested a teacher's aide who is accused of molesting a 13-year-old autistic boy at a Providence, Rhode Island, middle school.

Thirty-year-old Anthony Tedeschi, of North Providence, is charged with second-degree child molestation, a felony.

Police say officials at Esek Hopkins Middle School contacted them in October after a school employee reported that Tedeschi had inappropriately touched one of the students. The school placed Tedeschi on administrative leave.

The Providence School Department said in a statement Monday the investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing, and Tedeschi was cleared to return to work Dec. 9.

The department says it removed Tedeschi from the school after police arrested him Friday. He will remain on administrative leave pending the current investigation.

It's unclear whether Tedeschi is represented by an attorney.
