Families: Drunk Driver Tried to Hit Group of Teens Before Homecoming Dance

A group of families in Maine say a drunk driver was intentionally trying to hit their teens before their homecoming dance.

WCSH reports that 18-year-old Jeffrey Foran is facing various charges, including driving under the influence and reckless conduct, after police said he backed into two cars on Locke Street in Saco Saturday night.

But the teens and their families say their gathering before Thornton Academy's homecoming dance turned scary when older teens in a car allegedly driven by Foran drove by, screaming obscenities at them from the car's windows.

The car allegedly returned about 45 minutes later, and started driving in reverse, eventually crashing into two cars.

"I thought they were just teenagers trying to look cool having a car. Trying to make fun of us," Jackson Cochrane, 14, told WCSH. "I didn't think they would stop and try and go backwards and try to hurt us."

Foran is being held without bail at York County Jail.

The incident is still under investigation.
