Teen Cyclist Airlifted After Being Hit by Pickup Truck on Cape Cod

A teenage cyclist was airlifted off Cape Cod Wednesday evening after she was hit by a pickup truck, according to officials.

Police in Falmouth, Massachusetts, say an 18-year-old woman from Foxboro was in or near a crosswalk on Gifford Street when a Toyota Tundra driven by a 67-year-old Falmouth woman hit her.

The victim suffered injuries to her leg and head. She was airlifted to a Boston-area hospital. While she had a bicycle, police say they are not sure whether she was walking or riding at the time of the crash. There was no word on her condition.

The driver was not injured.

Gifford Street was closed to traffic from Amvets Avenue to Dillingham Avenue while police investigated.
