Teen Gets 20 Years for Stabbing Woman in Park

Samantha Heath of Barnstead had pleaded guilty to attempted murder earlier this year

A 19-year-old New Hampshire woman accused of stabbing another woman multiple times in a park last year has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Samantha Heath of Barnstead had pleaded guilty to attempted murder earlier this year, agreeing to testify against her former boyfriend, Kyle Buffum. He's charged with coming up with a plan to kill Andrea Halvorsen and then rob a string of gas stations and flee to Florida.

Police said the 18-year-old Halvorsen was stabbed 16 times at Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown in January 2014.

In court Wednesday, Heath apologized to Halvorsen. She said she did everything for Buffum, saying he was her addiction. He's expected to face trial in the spring. His attorney has suggested he will argue an insanity defense.
