A 15-year-old girl has died after being assaulted Sunday evening in Cambridge, Massachusetts, authorities confirmed Monday night.
The Middlesex County District Attorney's Office confirms police responded around 6:30 p.m. Sunday to the intersection of Cambridge and Warren streets, where officials believe the girl, who was walking to an acquaintance's house, was shoved to the ground, hitting her head.
The girl was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. She died Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
No arrests have been made. Officials initially believed the attack was a robbery, but have ruled that possibility out.
Authorities are investigating the cause and manner of death. The victim's identity has not been released.
